If you are excited about what Epic Nerd Camp has to offer, you’re nerdy enough. You don’t need to have previous experience in doing any of the things you’re excited about. Trying new things is one of the best parts of camp! However, if you are looking at this as a cheap alternative to a specialty camp (i.e. circus, rock climbing, etc), and disdain the nerdy aspects, ENC is not for you. If you’re looking for some nerds to troll/bully, ENC is not for you. We’ll boot you out and keep your money. 🙂

Absolutely!! Anyone with preferences or concerns in regards to lodging may contact us at [email protected] We want everyone to be comfortable, and have a Safer Spaces Team here to address and handle any concerns.

Refund requests made between 61 – 90 days prior to the start of camp are eligible to receive a 50% refund of the paid registration fee.

Yes! We have several options when it comes to bunking, including co-ed cabins.  All of the beds are single “cot-sized” beds. Some people push them together to sleep closer to their companion.

You must be 21+ years of age by your arrival at camp. There is no upper age limit.

Yes, you will be provided with three meals each day. You are, of course, welcome to bring your own. We will have vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other allergy options.

If you have severe food allergies (Celiac/etc), you are also welcome to bring prepared meals and keep them in the kitchen fridge. Please contact us well in advance and notify us if you plan to do so, we will make every effort to make this as convenient and safe as possible.

Other than your awesome self, you will need to bring your own twin size linens (whatever you require for your bed/pillow/blankets/towel). THIS POST in our Facebook Group will give you a pretty good idea of what to bring.

If you have any personal games you want to bring, do it! And yes, you can bring your costumes. WE ENCOURAGE IT!

Sadly, no. We actually put a lot of thought into finding a work-around for the problem, but there are stairs, hills, and large gravel positively everywhere.

Our campers with limited mobility have really struggled to get around. As much as we would love to, we can’t transport individuals around camp. You must be able to get yourself up and down hills, and walk about 10,000 steps a day, unassisted by staff.

Although the range is from 21-65, the bulk of our campers are in their mid-2os to mid-40s. Several campers have come or returned with their parents.  Age doesn’t seem to matter though, as our shared passion of fandoms, games, and creative media is a huge equalizer.

All three years have had slightly more campers who use female pronouns, which is unusual for a “nerd” event… but we excel in “unusual” ;P

Yes, definitely yes. There is no way to work around this, not only will ENC have photographers, but all of the campers will be taking pictures as well. If you have any issues with showing up in a photograph or video, this may not be the best fit for you. There’s a photo release in the registration waiver.

The gravel is large. It’s like a mix of regular sized Legos and Duplos. (Did you know that Lego owns Duplo?! I didn’t, until today.)

Anyway, it’s not suitable for skating or rollerblading, bikes are fine. See FAQ regarding bikes.

Nope. With so many campers returning via carpooling with friends they made at camp, the demand is smaller every year, to the point where it’s become unviable. Joining our FACEBOOK GROUP is the best way to arrange a ride. Except for maybe

So many of our activities carry inherent risk. Qualified instructors will guide you, but sometimes injuries happen. We have first responders on-site for first-aid, but as an adult, you are ultimately responsible for taking care of yourself. So, if you are, for example, horsing around in the dark with lightsabers and happen to chip a tooth, you are responsible for any resulting dentist or hospital bills.

You: “Oh my, but that example is oddly specific…”

Me: “Yes…. yes it is.”

You may bring your bicycle as long as you also bring (and wear) an appropriate helmet (on your head).

I friggin’ wish! My dog is awesome! Her name is Willow and she is #1 Good Dog.

Unless your dog is specifically trained to perform absolutely necessary tasks for you (as defined by the ADA), you have to do what we do, and leave your super awesome doggo at home :(((((( <-super sadface. Service animals are a need, not a want. If you are wondering whether or not you should bring your animal, you should not. If you do have a necessary service animal, please contact us at [email protected]

If they are over 21 years old by the first day of camp, they can absolutely register for camp!

So did we! Thanks to our current government administration, changes and uncertainties pertaining to the laws that enable work visas for internationally sourced camp staff made our chosen venue fall through.  We are determined to have a west coast camp at a venue that “gets” us and our mission, so we have to put more time and thought into who to partner with next.

The cellular coverage is actually pretty decent at our new location. We will not have Wifi available for campers, you are welcome to bring your own Wifi Hotspots though.

There will be designated smoking areas. Smoking outside of these areas is not allowed. All of these smoking areas will be equipped with “Butt Buckets”, please respect the property and dispose of your butts.

One of the major upgrades for 2019 are the twin sized Tempurpedic mattresses with box springs on beds that are made for adults! They’re very comfortable!

Please email us at [email protected] and we will answer all of your questions to the best of our ability!
