SUNDRY & WHATNOT

Play a stringed instrument, sing, make general merriment around the campfire, game room, etc… This is more of a gig for a few hours each evening.

If you have a significant social following or skillset sufficient enough that advertising your participation and/or attendance would offset your food/lodging costs, let us know in your application and we’ll see what we can arrange! Presently, this is a labor of love, and we’re not in a position to pay appearance fees. Our community is small and wonderful, you won’t be sorry you came. 🙂

We like a couple more people to help code some website and app features, this is a non-standard position. Apply for more details.

Anyone interested in joining the ENC team must be aware of the following policies.

HOW IT WORKS- The venue has set the fee for food and lodging for our Camp Counselors such that it’s necessary for Standard Camp Counselors to cover their own food/lodging costs (which is standard practice). Camp Counselor Registration Badges for ENC 2018 are $299. This covers the cost of your lodging and food while at ENC (including the day before camp: Tuesday, August 14th), as well as a Camp Counselor t-shirt, badge, and wristband.
Standard Camp Counselor- Unless otherwise specified, Camp Counselors will be assigned up to a maximum of three activity periods per day of the session.
Non-standard Camp Counselor- These positions may require work outside the week of the event, and are handled case-by-case. We’re not assholes, so we’ll work out something fair.

FIRST YEAR CAMP COUNSELORS- As per usual, first year Camp Counselors will be asked to purchase a Camper Registration $599 (or Pre-Registration $499) Badge. After successful completion of your Camp Counselor commitments, you will be reimbursed the difference between $299 and your paid registration fee after the conclusion of camp. This system discourages people from joining the team, collecting their badge, then neglecting to fulfill their commitments.

RETURNING CAMP COUNSELORS- Returning Camp Counselors will have access to the Camp Counselor Registration Badge for $299.

THINGS TO KNOW
Unless otherwise specified, you are expected to arrive at the venue the day before camp starts: Tuesday, August 14th (the earlier in the day, the better) and to stay until noonish on Sunday, August 19th.

All Camp Counselor must wear their Epic Nerd Camp badge while in the camp or working/participating in activities where it is safe to do so. This will set a good example for campers, who are also required to wear their badges.

All Camp Counselors should wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Please refrain from wearing torn or dirty clothing. You’ll be provided with one ENC Camp Counselor t-shirt, which should be worn while on duty. Additional t-shirts for returning Camp Counselors will be available at cost (TBA). Going forward, first year Camp Counselors will receive “red shirts” which can only be worn during your first year, so you’ll probably only want one. Comfortable walking shoes are best, as most Camp Counselors will be standing or walking a great deal during the day.

Please do not use your cell phone excessively while on duty.

We ask all Camp Counselors to act in the best interest of Epic Nerd Camp by respecting campers, fellow Camp Counselors  and staff, as well as promoting a safe and healthy environment.

You are welcome to volunteer your time outside of assigned hours, but your food/lodging costs will remain the same unless we specifically ask you to do so.

Camp Counselors must refrain from any deliberate acts that may create a dangerous or unhealthy situation during Epic Nerd Camp. This includes, but is not limited to: the use of illegal drugs, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages; and assaulting, harassing, threatening, or disregarding the safety (or perceived safety) of an individual.

We have a zero tolerance policy against harassment of any kind. Violation of this policy will result in badge revocation and removal from our programs without reimbursement.
