CLASSES & ACTIVITIES
Epic Nerd Camp offers a variety of different activities for you to choose from – you can make your day as busy or as carefree as you want!
Check out a sampling of what we offer below.
ARTS & CRAFTS
With a variety of different Arts & Crafts classes on offer, there’s no way you can’t level up your creative skills!
These classes are offered to campers at a variety of different levels and skill sets. Classes have additional fees for materials.
With our powers combined, the ENC community has successfully crowdfunded a 24 player set of combat archery equipment!
ESCAPE ROOM
I’m not allowed to divulge anything about this. It’s a room… you must escape it!
A live action role playing game, or LARP, is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically act out their characters’ actions. It’s basically make-believe for grownups.
MERMAIDING
Learn how the merfolk swim! We have monofins for class use, but the tail (bathing suit part) is something you’ll need to bring, if you want to go 100% mer.
The pond is nestled down in a grove, with a bridge that will take you into the magical land of Encaros. During the day, you can borrow a canoe. At night, come sit on one of the many benches surrounding the campfire, which also offer a view of our fire dancing/ flow arts area. Flow artists are encouraged to bring their equipment!
The pond spirit, Snappy McSnapface (see map), prohibits us from swimming in the pond, so our new goal is to see if we can fill up every inch of the pool with floaties. I believe we can!
QUIDDITCH
We have a full set of Quidditch equipment for pickup games and photo ops. This is not scheduled during our daily activity blocks, as we found the allure of our other activities resulted in low signups, but we always have a pickup game or two.
POOL QUIDDITCH
To beat the summer heat and to hunt for the Snitch at the same time, we play a varient of Quidditch in the pool. Think of it like water polo – except without horses and with Bludgers. (And yes, the concept of using horses in water polo made me giggle.)
SWORDS & SABERS
German Longsword: Learn the basic stances and strikes using Lichtenauer’s treatise on the hand and half sword. Pairing off for strike and parry drills to learn the basic ebb and flow combat as well as footwork and grappling. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes and athletic footwear.
Lightsaber Stage Combat: We will learn basic theatrical sword combat using the lightsaber as the basis for the combat. We will work on learning the Hollywood six and then pairing off to practice various target routines while discussing how to advance in the form and injecting drama in to conflicts.
TABLETOP GAMES
Gaming is a big part of Epic Nerd Camp, we allocate a lot of time and space so our attendees can make the most of their tabletop experience. In addition to our diverse library of available games, we open our doors to game companies and independent game makers who wish to have their games available for play at our event. We accept games of all kinds, and most stages of production; from games still in need of testing to pre-release and current release products.
